The hirer is responsible for ensuring that their party are fully aware of all booking conditions & have appropriate comprehensive holiday insurance (including cancellation insurance) in place.

Bookings

When you submit an online booking, you will receive an automatically generated booking summary to the e-mail address you provided. This is not a contract or confirmation of the booking. . A contract only arises when your booking is subsequently confirmed by e-mail following the payment of a deposit.

The contract is with the named lead person on the booking form. It is the responsibility of this lead person to ensure all members of the party are notified and conform to our Terms and Conditions.

The remaining balance payment will be due 6 weeks (42 days) before the holiday date. Please note your booking will be considered as cancelled if the full balance is not received as stated.

For late bookings (within 6 weeks of holiday date) payment is required in full at the time of booking.

The booking price includes all heating and electricity and towels and bed linen.

Covid

If we are forced to close or are in lockdown and are not able to offer holiday accommodation due to new government instructions – guests with bookings that are affected  will be invited to  reschedule to later dates or cancel and receive a full no quibble refund – payable immediately. This also applies when we are open but guests cannot travel because the area they live in is in local lockdown. This only applies to covid lockdowns. All other cancellations come under our cancellation policy

Arrival and departure

Arrival time is 4pm and departure is by 10am unless by prior agreement.

Cancellations

Cancellations and alterations policy: (for cancellations other than national or local lockdowns enforced by the government)

For cancellations more than 6 weeks before the arrival date – we will offer alternative dates (subject to availability) up to 12 months from the original arrival date – with the guest to pay any additional costs if the new dates are more expensive.    We are only able to offer alternative dates once. If the guest needs to cancel a second time then will not be able to offer alternatives and no money will be refunded.

Unfortunately we cannot offer new dates if there are less than 6 weeks until the original booked date.

We cannot provide refunds of any monies already paid for cancellations and strongly advise guests to ensure that they have full travel insurance including cancellation insurance.

If a holiday is cut short, for whatever reason, the guest remains liable for the full balance already paid.

Pets

Assistance dogs are welcome – though notification of assistance dogs attending must be given at time of booking and the following conditions (for all doggie visitors) apply:

  • Dogs must be under strict control at all times while in the property
  • Any fouling around the property  must be cleared up without delay.
  • The owner must bring the dog’s bed or basket for sleeping in, and bags for cleaning up.  None are supplied.
  • Dogs MUST NOT be left alone in the property or elsewhere at any time.
  • Dogs MUST NOT lie on beds or furnishings, and hair must be well cleared up before departing.
  • Dogs must be on a lead while outside (we have no garden gate, boundary wall, and there are often sheep in the field at the bottom of the garden.)

Other pets are strictly by prior written arrangement only.  It is our general policy not to allow other pets – however we do occasionally make exceptions for  small well behaved companion dogs. Guests who wish to bring dogs need to contact us and get agreement before booking. There will be no charge for assistance dogs. There will be a £20 charge for all other dogs.

Fixtures, fittings and cleaning

It is the guest’s responsibility to keep all fixtures and fittings in the same state as the commencement of the guest’s stay – and to report any damage or breakages.   At our discretion we will not charge for any small breakages – though we need them reporting so that we can replace them in time for the next guests.

Guests must keep the property clean at all times and leave the property in a clean and ordered state to allow us to prepare the property for the next guests.

As we cater for powerchairs and wheelchairs, we do get wear and tear and collison damage around the property. We do repairs and redecorating during maintenance downtime and if the property is empty due to a cancellation – but there may be wear and tear and scuff marks at times in Croft Bungalow

Croft Bungalow is a smoke-free property.  No smoking is allowed inside the property – under any circumstances.

Guests who wish to smoke may do so outside as long as they dispose of extinguished cigarette ends in the refuse bin.

Guests own kitchen equipment

Guests are not allowed to bring their own kitchen equipment unless by prior written agreement. This is to prevent deep fat fryers, chip pans or other equipment deemed to be a risk being used without the owner’s knowledge or consent.

Guests having day visitors.

Guests may from time to time have other friends or family staying in the area that they wish to visit them at Croft Bungalow.  This is permitted and encouraged,  as long as the owners are notified in advance and parking restrictions at the bungalow are adhered to.  These day visitors will not be permitted to stay overnight  at the bungalow. Visiting guests are also bound by these terms and conditions.

There is parking for one vehicle at Croft Bungalow.  Additional vehicles must be parked on the street. Vehicles parked at Croft Bungalow must be drawn forward onto the patio area at the front of the bungalow and not block the access lane.  This lane is also pedestrian access to the property next door.

We have an Oxford mobile hoist and electric profile bed that we lend to guests free of charge on request. These are maintained under commercial maintenance agreements. Guests use these at their own risk.

Mobile phones, WiFi and telephone

There is very poor mobile phone reception in the village. Whilst there can be some coverage at Croft Bungalow it cannot be guaranteed.  WiFi is available and this is free to guests. It is a rural service and will have some limitations. Whilst there has never been a problem with WiFi service to date – future availability is down to BT and we cannot guarantee it will work at all times.

There is a coin operated payphone in Croft Bungalow.  Guests are welcome to receive incoming calls or may make outgoing calls with the coin operated payphone.
