Big nights out If a larger evening with lots of pubs within walking distance is your thing, Then Matlock and Bakewell are nearby country towns with pub laden town centres. Both are a 15-20 minute taxi ride away.

If you want to go further afield Chesterfield is 30-35 minutes in a taxi and has a much larger town centre, or Derby is commutable by train from Matlock (you would need a taxi back from Matlock). Don’t miss the last train from Derby though – or the taxi will get really expensive.
